Runway Rox – “From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk”
By Robere Lett | Publisher
I stopped in for a recent Runway Rox casting and training session to get a glimpse of eager new models all vying to be the next catwalk queen or king. Rozeta Rox is a powerhouse industry professional who after years of gracing runways in fashion shows around the world decided to put her talents to use by assisting others with the same dream. Self-taught Rozeta has trained some of the best walkers for a variety of high profile clients. Her sheer energy and enthusiasm coupled with a bubbly and engaging personality make Rox one of the most sought after trainers in and out of town. The day I stopped by Rox was hosting Bridget Halanski Runway Director for the famed Chicago-based Factor|Chosen Model Management agency. The session was fast and furious as Rox put the models through their paces, complete with the proper body positioning and attitude. It was exciting to catch up with Bridget a native of Detroit now Chicago transplant about all things industry, their new agency location and the changes permeating the industry all of which I will post in another feature. Watching Rox work her magic is nothing short of poetry; a ballet of what I like to call hips and lips, that elegant sway of flirtiness and bravado with a bit of machismo for the fellas. I asked Rox her philosophy on the modeling world.
“I am really happy for the millennials right now; I think that fashion has a freedom and flexibility and the ability to express that is wide open. Everything is fast now; you can be a visionary and think outside the box.”
