The DIA and Neiman Marcus Bring fashion to the “D”
By Robere Lett – Publisher
On a hot and steamy Thursday night, the forces of fashion and philanthropy came together to create a wonderful night of fashion, food, and lots of fun… Fash Bash one of Detroit’s oldest and most well-known charity events took center stage. The trend-centric fashion show designed and curated by Ken Downing – Neiman Marcus Senior VP and fashion director along with his amazing team brought the coming season’s trends to life.
The fashion show reigned supreme with lots of layered looks wrought with a wide array of textures, embellished with everything from feathers to fur, tone on tone, pattern on pattern, velvet with flower power florals, bold statement accessories in necklaces and handbags and deeply hued makeup carried a vintage feel on some of the models; eclectic style permeated the catwalk creations, each outfit carried it owns artistic flair, from avant-garde to extravagant for both men and women.
While the moves on the catwalk were evident the real movement started taking place at the Lincoln Black Label after party where the fashion savvy crowd mixed, mingled, drank and danced up a storm. Pulsating music reverberated from every nook, shaking the old masters right off the wall! Speaking of walls the popcorn embellished wall was a big hit with several assorted flavors of crunchy goodness!
Originally scheduled to be an outdoor event the heat didn’t kill the spirit as several rooms in the DIA were taken over for the party of parties.
