If you weren’t able to attend the first annual Don Davis Legacy Foundation Awards and Tribute Gala event earlier this month you missed a wonderful night of giving and giving back.  On what was the perfect sunny day that lead to a beautiful fall night; with warm temperatures that paralleled a truly “Haute” show. The celebrities, honored guests, and patrons were treated to a star-studded red carpet pre-mixer with hosts and presenters Vivica Fox and Laz Alonzo as they walked the red carpet for interviews.  Kiko Davis and children Skye and Donnie Jr. made a grand entrance meeting and greeting the many attendees along the way.

The late Don Davis – The inaugural Outstanding Business Leader and Philanthropist Award (Posthumous)
Daymond John (Shark Tank) – Business Icon of the Year Award
Dr. Karl Gregory – Vanguard Award for Social and Economic Justice
Vivian Pickard – Corporate Excellence and Community Visionary Award

The night was capped off with a stellar performance by Johnny Gill and a wonderful children’s dance troop. This promising affair was a splendid opportunity to promote education and to honor those that have helped pave the way to higher education for at-risk youth.  The Don Davis Legacy Foundation Awards and Tribute Gala was the close out for the 89th Annual National Bankers Association Convention, this was the first time in history that the convention was held in Detroit.  Keep a look out for next years event that is sure to be another premier place to see and be seen while celebrating the community spirit and remember to tell them Haute is… sent you!
