50 Shades of Gray: Fall Trends 2014
“Gray matters” is the new mantra for Neiman Marcus Fall 2014.
This season, all shades of gray are at play – from pearl to dove, to pewter to charcoal; no shade has been left out. The Fall Trend Event sponsored by Neiman Marcus was steeped in wonderful, fresh, and exciting new pieces to keep you on the fringe of fashion. Speaking of fringe, it is one of the great looks this fall on hand bags and ponchos; it’s a trend to watch.
Global Chic! That mix of exotic patterns, textures and tones inspired by Africa, Asia and the American Indian create an amazing blend, completed with over-the-top jewelry piled on as high as ever, and as much as you dare. Voluminous coats with a sweeping symmetry layered over great pant suits and knitted dresses and yes, pants are back and all the rage this season. Gray, blue, and green are also in favor; mixed greens for her – from pale to forest and in-between. For the fashionable fella, deep blue and burgundy are key colors, heightened by texture on texture fabrications, mixing plaid over plaid with suits, sport coats, shirts and ties, creating a striking palette topped off with the latest shoe sensation, “the sneaker” – a trend that has melded the urban culture with European tailoring. Fabrics this fall are sumptuous.
