Actress Emma Watson’s take on fashion
Emma Watson has a problem with the fashion industry.
The 23-year-old actress had a few inspiring words to share regarding the fashion industry and its negative effect on young women; more specifically, its unrealistic approach to beauty. Known to have a keen eye for fashion even at the onset of her acting career, Watson is currently on a press tour for her new film “Noah.” In her recent interview with The Guardian, she elaborates:
As a younger woman, that pressure got me down, but I’ve made my peace with it. With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that’s dangerously unhealthy. I’m excited about the aging process. I’m more interested in women who aren’t perfect. They’re more compelling.”
We need more young role models like Ms. Watson, especially when it comes to sharing her wisdom with younger women who often emulate celebrities when it comes to fashion and lifestyle.
